Fine Art For One and All:
OK…Check this out! This very cool guy named Vincent recently introduced himself to me…and I love what he does!! He is a smarty…without a doubt. Vincent is an art dealer that started this cool website COLLEGE ART ONLINE to encourage all of us to buy fine art made by college students….! Very cool indeed…and imagine, you are doing all sorts of good for these young artists. For instance….maybe you’ll be helping them with tuition by supporting their art…and the way I see it college tuition is way pricey these days…and only becoming crazier by the
minute. ( this way they also may eat more than mac & cheese from the box…) You are getting in on the goods before a gallery owner snatches these brilliant minds and their talents up and they become officially ” Gallery Artists” ..which is so cool…but don’t you want to be “the discoverer”. I have spent some time digging around on this website…loads of goodness to
see, something for everyone…eclectic and fabulous! I asked my friend Vincent if I could feature a few of the gems from his site….
Unique and affordable art - Student works!
http://b-living.blogspot.com/2010/01/unique-and-affordable-art-student-works.html
In my opinion, great art can both define and tie together a room. I'm always on the hunt for great artwork, and a few days ago, I got an e-mail from Vincent de Sarte, the founder of College Art Online, asking if I was interested in checking out the site. I usually pass on these kinds of e-mails, but I definitely think this site can be a valuable resource in finding good artwork for a reasonable price. The students sell both drawings, paintings and photographs, and the selection is HUGE!

Who Needs a Gallery?
Two art aficionados show student artists they don’t need a big name to enjoy gallery fame.
As the son of a prominent at dealer, Vincent de Sarthe has always been surrounded by fine art. When he moved home from New York last year, he had an idea: There are countless ways the biggest and best names in art can exhibit their work. But what about emerging talent from our nation’s colleges? De Sarthe, 24, partnered with brother –in-law, Adam Rosepink, of Scottsdale, 27, to create CollegeArtOnline.com, an online resource for new and emerging artists to showcase their work worldwide for free. “Why can’t this be fine art? Why can’t this be the future?” de Sarthe asks. “There are so many young artists but not enough galleries who want to show them.” The artwork costs from $20 to $3,000. The Website gets a 25 percent commission for each piece sold.

Smart Art
Scout and support emerging artists without leaving your desk. Affordable art is just a click away at CollegeArtOnline.com, which aims to bring art to the masses. The site offers a wealth of original student artwork at prices that range from $50 to $3,000 (the average sale is $200) and allows would-be collectors to pay the listed price or make the artist an offer. As for sifting through the available works, you can browse categories including paintings, photography, and sculpture, but we recommend checking out the site's "curated exhibitions," an ongoing series that features works selected by guest curators around themes such as simplicity and fate.
Student Art at Your Fingertips
http://www.culturesurfer.com/art.html
I recently ran across a very cool new website called College Art Online. What's so unique about this site is that the art for sale on the site has been created by college students and professors. Of course all of you reading this who are now in or have been through art school know that it's not a requirement to have that BFA or MFA before your work is good enough to put on the market. But in all honesty, the idea of art students selling their art never would have occurred to me. Morover, the site is a great impetus to help students understand that being an artist does not only require being creative , but it is also means that you have to be a business person if you have any hope of making a living from your work. I've seen too many talented artists who simply don't grap the idea that it takes a lot of effort to move that work out of your house and into the hands of buyers. College Art Online gives students and professors at least one venue to try to accomplish that.

Want to buy some art? How about from an online pool of up and coming art schoolers? Then much like the emerging on-line gallery, e-commerce art sites like Mixed Greens and 20×200, go and check out www.collegeartonline.com.
It’s cool to browse through the good and the bad and see the idea’s and work that young artist’s are creating. And if you happen to be said college student that you can submit to the online gallery to sell and showcase your work too. They even have curated online shows that pick work from the site that fit themes. The work is singled out to serve the purpose of the curators idea’s both advancing dialogue and promoting the artist. It’s a very ingenious idea and great solution to the ever more expensive endeavor of dealing in the commerce of art and offering great opportunities for young artists to gain exposure.

Designer Adam Beneke Blogs About CollegeArtOnline.com On Art Website Twenty2wo.com
http://blog.twenty2wo.com/2009/08/college-art-online.html
College Art Online is a fairly new site designed to sell original artworks by student artists and professors. Filling a niche with affordable and beautiful artworks from artists who would not always have the chance to sell their work. There really is a great quality and selection on College Art Online and I was having trouble picking a few favorites. Ranging in price (up to $3000), size and media there really is something for everyone. Excellent work on Mindy Kober's Flickr photostream. I love the clean line style and colored gouache. Her original works are available for purchase through College Art Online.

“log on:COLLEGE ART ONLINE
Yes, a lot of art made by art students is absolute crap, but a lot of it-that which is made by actual artists rather than those looking to fill time between happy hours-is very good, actually. It’s latter category that Vincent de Sarthe concerns himself with on his sensibly named website Collegeartonline.com. Selling the work of students and professors for prices that range from $50-3,000, the site is a way to get your hands on some great art before its creators graduate and start ripping you off, or worse, stop making it.
